As a Solutions Manager for IBM's Sensor Solutions business since 2007, Deirdre has worked in a variety of different areas including business operations, business development, and multimedia collateral development. A computer science graduate of the University of Waterloo, she has held a number of roles in IBM's software, services and corporate divisions since joining IBM in 2004, including international assignments to New York, USA and Dublin, Ireland. Key accomplishments include her work with the IBM Academy of Technology in 2005, her role in helping shape IBM's Sensor Solutions business, and winning the 2008 IBM Toronto Lab Community Award. Deirdre's favourite 'night job' activity is to develop and deliver educational activities that introduce elementary school girls and their teachers to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines.
