CBC Presentation: Television Broadcasting in the Digital Era

Jeff Vella, CE 9T5 will be speaking about his experiences working at the CBC, and answering your questions. His one-hour talk will include:

* Overview of the CBC
* Overview of CBC Technology and Broadcast Engineering
* Critical technologies that enable creative and efficient digital television program production
* Overview of recently completed projects including HDTV studios, control rooms and mobile production trucks

Jeff Vella is a Senior Systems Engineer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Jeff joined the CBC Broadcast Engineering team as part of the PEY Program in 1992. He returned to the University of Toronto after a 16-month internship to complete his Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering. Jeff graduated in 1995 and joined the CBC on a full time basis at that time. Jeff has completed a number of high profile projects during his tenure at the CBC including the design and integration of the Corporation's first high definition mobile production truck.
