Abstract

Dear IEEE Chapter Leaders, Advisors, and Students,

Happy Holidays! I would like to introduce you to an opportunity for you and your members to win up to $3,000 in a contest sponsored by several organizations here at MIT. Please pass this information along to whomever might be interested (like your chapter members). We need to know if you are interested in participating by January 3rd.

FPGA accelerators are the trend for next-generation computing. If you want to show-off your exceptional programming skills and your creativity, and even change the world, participate in Innovate Canada FPGA Programming Competition! This event is sponsored by Altera, Impulse and IEEE.

You have to come up with an innovative idea to develop applications on Altera FPGAs. Examples include medical imaging, financial modeling and face recognition. The deadline to submit your proposal is January 25, 2008. Once your proposal is accepted, you will receive educational material, development software from Altera and Impulse, and a DE1 Altera Development kit to keep.

Thanks to Impulse, you don't have to be a HDL (Hardware Description Language) expert to win. The Impulse software is able to convert your code in C into HDL, with optimization in parallelization and pipelining.

ROGERS WIRELESS - CAREER INFORMATION SESSION

The 2nd Annual IEEE Student Paper Conference 2008 (AISPC'08) will take place in Aalborg University, Denmark in February 2008. We kindly ask you to distribute the Call for papers (below – text version, attached – PDF version) between your Bachelor, Master and PhD students in the corresponding areas. The papers will be evaluated in different categories providing fair conditions for all attendees. Both full papers and extended abstracts are accepted for submission.
